A truck was broken into (passenger side window) and a radio was stolen sometime last night or during the early morning hours. On 14th Street and Oak.

habitual auto break ins

Postby iamjeffo » Sat Oct 08, 2005 11:28 am

We live at 15th St & Hubbell St <just north of Palm Ln>. This morning 10/8 suffered the 4th auto break-in in less than a year at our residence. I have to guess they are kids doing this because it is always smashed windows and the car gone through...but never a locked glove box forced open or anything.

We've only lived here 1 year and are starting to regret the move. Our friends are making fun of it as well and hesitate coming over at night now.

I am FAR beyond upset this morning !! I've lived in Phoenix 36yrs and never experienced this much trouble before. The last 10yrs I've spent in the central phoenix area.

What can we do ??

Auto Break In

I'm sorry to hear about the break ins, If it was me I would get a camera, they have cameras on ebay that have motion detectors and infared red night vision for under $150. This way you are able to capture an image of the person to give to police, I would also recommend joining the Phoenix Neighborhood patrol the next training class is November 15th. This allows you to connect with police and have the neighborhood more aware of your problem. I would be happy to give you block watch signs and will patrol your area more frequently.
What time of the day is this happening?

Noah, Thanks for the camera idea, although I'm not sure where i would install it. The break-ins always happen on the street side of the car too, and not on the curb side.

Time of day would have to be after Midnight as my best guess. Perhaps you could contact me personally and we can talk about the Neighbor Watch thing, and the camera more.
