Coronado Park Improvement Meeting Minutes, April 2, 2009

From the Coronado Neighborhood: Diane Brennan, Elizabeth Compton, Andrea del Galdo, Dot Hurd, Bob Meitz (new member) Ethan Mobley, Bill Newcomb, Donna Reiner,
March meeting minutes approved.
Steering Committee formed: Diane Brennan, Elizabeth Compton, Andrea del Galdo, Bill Newcomb, Donna Reiner. Ethan and Bob have also expressed a keen interest in being on the committee and we will try to fit them in. Bob will let Andrea know if his schedule allows.
The committee is charged with:
Being the voice of the larger committee and the neighborhood though the survey and the monthly meetings that proceed the CNA general meeting
Creating a park master plan in phases
Obtain a detailed list of planned and existing expenditures from the city
Have input on RFP’s
Phase 1 – immediate needs. Bathrooms, moving playground, new playground equipment, additional trees vegetation, obtaining outside funding for trees and shade, etc. Utilizing salvaged materials from DOT.
Phase 2 and 3 are still on the table.
Bill and Todd have created a representational “programming white board” that we can use to plan out the park. Thanks to all involved.
Bill suggested a fence at the southern end of the park. Steering needs to find out height limitations from city. It was also suggested that the fence be creatively, but frugally designed.
It was suggested that the Steering meetings be the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6 pm. Place to be determined. It was decided that Steering committee members can only have a maximum of two excused absences. There will be no allowance for an unexcused absence.
Andrea will check with Don on survey results thus far.
