Following introductions, Tom Byrne provided a document regarding the Master Plan process. He reviewed/explained this process. Looking at the suggested timeline, Byrne clarified that there is not a hard & fast rule on the time of the process. Some things may go faster. The time it takes is roughly six months. The results of this process will just be a master plan map.
What’s on master plan does not mean it will be done all at once. Master Plans may change over time. The phasing of the implementation is tied to the bond funding.
A survey monkey will be finalized by city staff in a couple of weeks and run for two weeks.
Parks puts this meeting info in the highlights to city management.
In answer to a question, the fence height max is 8 feet with turn outs on south side of property.
Neighborhood committee members would also like to be informed of changes in the park so they can notify Coronado residents (this was in response to concerns about why the pool was being closed for the summer).
Neighborhood committee members expressed their interest in shade/green sustainability for park. The Coronado neighborhood parks committee sent a letter to the mayor following his state of the city address volunteering Coronado Park as a demonstrate site of shade/green sustainability.
Resources: There is a plan to assess the trees in the parks. Richard Adkin is the City Forestry guy.
